Baggage - What to Pack for Camp

The following check list is only a guide. Washing machines are not available at camp. All articles (including luggage and mosquito net) should be labeled with camper's name. Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is not responsible for any damage to or loss of personal items. Please limit luggage to two pieces.

Do not pack these items. They will be needed at Check-In.

  • Health card
  • Medication
  • Camp Allowance Agreement
  • Permission slip

Packing List

  • Shirts - short sleeves
  • Jeans
  • Shorts
  • Swimsuit(s)
  • 2 pairs of shoes (no sandals)
  • Anklets or knee socks (not tennis socks, please)
  • Underwear
  • Pajamas
  • Hat (baseball cap or bandana)
  • Rainwear (raincoat or poncho, and rain boots or shoes)
  • Towels and washcloths
  • 2 Lightweight blankets (may substitute lightweight sleeping bag)
  • Sheets
  • pillow and pillowcases
  • Mosquito netting 32"x59"x79" (poles will already be attached to bed)
    These may be purchased at a sporting goods outlet but are not available for check out at camp.
  • Flashlight with extra batteries and bulbs
  • Stationery and stamps (stamped and addressed for Brownies)
  • Camera (optional except for photography sessions)
  • Film (will not be sold at camp)
  • Insect repellent (no spray)
  • Toilet articles
  • Laundry bag (Some plastic bags are handy to pack wet things when going home.)

REQUIRED FOR CANOEING

  • Wide-brimmed hat or baseball cap
  • Tennis shoes to wear in the lake (old ones are preferred) or Aquasocks
  • Life jacket (will be provided)
  • Sunscreen

PLEASE NOTE

No electric appliance of any kind including fans, curling irons, stereos, etc., will be allowed due to the danger of overloading the electric circuits. No mobile phones or beepers are allowed. Please leave all food, gum, candy and other sweets at home. Ants and roaches can turn personal gear into a disaster area! These items will be collected by the staff and returned at the end of camp.
